Vedic Astrology – How And Why Your Spirit Takes Form
“Your perception of reality reflects who you are, not what reality is.”
Who are you? What are you perceiving?

The Western "Chaos Theory" is Bunk.
The Universe is Deeply Ordered.
You Are an Emanation of Divine Love.

Ordered Principles of Life and how Spirit Takes Form

As I said, the universe is not random at all. It is deeply ordered. The only thing that is NOT ordered is your mind and the mind of other humans.

Why is that?

Because you are always changing and evolving and restless. Because you sense your true nature but you are not expressing it truthfully.

You hold all of the keys to existence and divinity, yet you are still in an animal body, with animal tendencies and fears.

"Man is between God and Dog."

But it's OK. In fact, it's great. All you need to do is learn how the game is being played, then you can win.

Life is Just a Simple Game

"As time goes by, you will see, That we're going to be free
You and me, we'll touch the sky, Can you see in your mind's eye
That we are one We're all the same
And life is just a simple game?"

- Moody Blues

Imagine trying to win at a simple game, like checkers, but you never learned how to play the game. In that case you would lose over and over again to even the most amateur level player.

What if your whole life revolved around winning that game, and every career move, relationship, and attempt to be happy was dependent on how well you could play checkers? You would be terribly frustrated with everything and be desperate to find someone to teach it to you.

Whether you know it or not, that is your plight.

But also notice I said "Checkers", a simple game, not "Chess" a hard game.

The Indian Yogis and Sages learned this and taught it to us. Not just information, but practices - like Yoga, Ayurveda and Astrology.

Structure of Vedic Sciences
Reincarnation / the Soul’s Journey – Just as your mind and awareness develops in this lifetime, your Soul grows and evolves through many lifetimes, until you become “enlightened”, beyond the limited illusion of the separate identity (called “ego). The astrology chart shows your soul's evolution in this lifetime.

Maya – We are covered in Avidya (primordial ignorance) that feels our true nature to be the ego, not the soul. We project this ignorance as “Maya”, illusion, which creates suffering through attachment to the false “ego structure. The illusion of “me and mine” is the main illusion and source of attachment.

Dharma – The truth of life and existence. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. Dharma can also be understood as the "essence" of something, it's true state, its natural state. The "Dharma" of water is to be wet, to flow, to be cool. When we are in alignment with Dharma, we are in "flow" with our true nature, which is also related to love, joy and beauty, because they are the essence of life, love and good feeling (not just desire and emotion). These principles are seen astrology - the truthful, dharmic essence of planets, signs, house, etc. This, is in contrast to the egoistic, desire-filled nature of those things. Keep all of this in mind. We will be referring back to Dharma throughout the classes.
There is the "dharma" of the elements, the gunas, the planets, the signs, etc.

Karma – Karma is the law, which includes predeterminism, presence and the unalterable future based on our present actions. One of the greatest misunderstandings about karma comes from the judgment we bring. There is no judgment or “punishment” in karma. I have found it is easier to view karma to be more like a natural law, such as gravity, rather than as a spiritual principle. Here is why. Natural laws function, with no judgment, beyond our likes and dislikes. We understand them on those terms and we are at peace with them on those terms.

For example, we don’t judge gravity as being right or wrong. Gravity is not right when it keeps us rooted on the Earth, then wrong when it pulls airplanes out of the sky killing people. Fire is not good when it cooks our food, then bad when it burns us.

Indian Philosophy that Governs Vedic Astrology - called "Sankhya"

These sacred structures and principles of the cosmos have formed your body and your tendencies. These immutable laws and structures are always operating, whether you know it or not. They are the same principles that govern Yoga, meditation, all spirituality snd mysticism AND Vedic Astrology.

From Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra. Chapter 2, V. 18-19.
“Ahamkara is of three classes, i.e. with Satwic, Rajasic, and
Tamasic disposition. Divine class, sensory organs, and the fine primordial compounds (air, earth, etc.) are respectively from the said three Ahamkaras.”
These verses outline the building blocks of Vedic astrology and all the Indian
metaphysical Sciences. In addition, there are other frameworks.

The Big Picture & What's Next For You
That arrangement of energy, seen by the Gunas and elements is fixed at birth. That doesn’t mean every activity is fixed and every response to every life situation is fixed. No, of course not. In fact, you are here to respond with clarity and presence to every unique moment. The karma seen in the birth chart shows the nature of your projections onto these life experiences, both large and small. It both shows the aggregate of your energy, and the specific moments that are being developed in you at any given time – based on the current dasas (cycles) and transits.
Vedic astrology is both complicated and simple. From the outside looking in, as a potential student for example, it looks extremely complicated. But this is mostly because you are complicating it. Of course there is a lot to learn, but as I said it is essentially quite simple. It is simply organizing and arranging all of these life forces into living, universal frameworks. These are the same frameworks that lead to peace and stillness when you practice yoga or eat healthy, etc but instead of applying them to moving your body or your diet, you are applying them to the living forces of consciousness.

Until Then, Consider a few things:

  • Maybe your problems have nothing to do with anything or anybody at all, maybe it is just your perspective.
  • Maybe you thought your life purpose was something entirely different than it was.
  • Maybe life is just a simple game, but you do not know how to play it.
  • Maybe if you just learn the rules of the game, then making the proper moves would be easy.
You Can Learn and are Meant to Know Vedic Astrology
Years ago I realized that Vedic astrology was being massively overcomplicated in the way it was being taught. This is mainly because teachers did not have a system in place. Instead, it was thought that someone needed to be “gifted” in order to understand and practice astrology. But again, that is not really the case. Vedic astrology is like any other subject that you can learn, if you go to a college and want to learn it. At least I know it is for those who study with me, because I have broken it down to these levels first - then the complexity is added on top.
